About Us
Yungu High School is an innovative private high school which adheres to the educational principles of the whole-person, competency-based and future-oriented education models. It is committed to cultivating “innovators for social good”. Based on the Chinese National Curriculum, Yungu High School has designed a system of high-quality integrated courses that are both Chinese-rooted and internationalized. The curriculum consists of both academic subject courses and extended courses, these being future readiness initiatives, student life activities, and social service opportunities.

Our Academic Curriculum
Yungu High School's curriculum is competency-based and future-oriented, which integrates the best of East and rest, cultivating students’ well-rounded development with depth and angles, culture confidence, identity, and global perspectives. Based on the Chinese National Curriculum, our academic courses encompass three divisions, namely, Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), Science, Technology, and Mathematics (STEM), and Performance, Production, and Design Division (P2D2), integrate international standards such as AP, GAC, IB, NGSS, and rigorously develop students’ cognitive skills such as critical thinking and creativity through deeper and project-based learning. Our curriculum adopts CBE (Competency-based Education) learning model with the following characteristics.

Future Planning
Future Planning is a three-year program that reframes the traditional college counseling process to better develop students’ readiness for their college experiences and beyond. The competencies emphatically cultivated through this program include Understanding of Self, Research-Based Argumentation, Reflective Practice, and Value-Aligned Decision-Making. We employ the applied research findings of Positive Psychology and psycho-educational assessments in order to support students’ exploration of their Sweet Spot (the intersection of one’s advantages, interests and values) and identity construction as they plan for their futures.

Special Programs
Yungu High School created the Capstone Program in collaboration with IDEO, the world-famous design firm. Capstone is a multifaceted, extensive assignment that serves as a culminating academic and intellectual experience for students. It can be demonstrated in the form of a final product, presentation, or performance.
